New Mountain View Branch Grand Opening: September 25th!
Mountain View is getting a new public library! The building is on target for LEED silver level green building certification and will open in September 2010. The grand opening celebration from 10am-2pm on Saturday, September 25, will feature music, food, storytimes for kids and entertainment for the whole family. Stay tuned for more details. APL Releases Progress Report on the Community Plan
Despite budgetary woes that have put the library into survival mode, Anchorage Public Library has begun implementing many of the recommendations of the Library Community Plan to improve services and respond to community feedback. Since the release of the plan six months ago, the library has doubled community outreach via social media, launched an information campaign and established new partnerships and leveraged these relationships to expand programming.
