Projects
Chugiak-Eagle River
Project Description
Chugiak-Eagle River is APL's busiest branch with more than 11,000 visits a month. The Municipality has secured space in the Valley River Center for the new Chugiak-Eagle River Branch Library. Not only is the new location more convenient and centrally-located, but it will also be co-located with other Municipal services. The square footage will be almost double that of the current library, ensuring that it meets the needs of this rapidly growing community. The community testified strongly in favor of the new location during Anchorage Assembly meetings. Click here for the Chugiak-Eagle River fact sheet.
Timeline
A purchase agreement for the Valley River Center was signed in December 2007. This spring the Municipality is working on design and cost analysis with the goal of beginning construction in summer 2008.
