Why give to the Anchorage Library Foundation?
Every day, our libraries are filled with people introducing their children to the joys of books, doing homework, accessing the Internet, searching for jobs, and enriching their lives. Your support makes this possible.
Thanks to the generous commitment of friends like you, the Anchorage Library Foundation is able to renovate neighborhood libraries across our community and promote the long-term vitality of the Anchorage Public Library.

Why donate to a tax-supported institution?
The Anchorage Public Library is a department of the Municipality of Anchorage, which provides funding for staff, collections, facilities, and operating expenses.
As the Library continues to expand its service to the community, the Library Foundation partners with the private sector to secure funds to support programs and resources not included in the city budget. Among these are: new libraries in Girdwood, Muldoon, Mountain View and Chugiak-Eagle River, technology upgrades, and upgrades to the Samson-Dimond and Loussac Libraries.
Can I contribute directly to my neighborhood library?
Yes, the Library Foundation operates distinct fundraising campaigns for each of its branches. If you would like to direct a gift to your branch, please note the branch name on your check, payable to the Anchorage Library Foundation, and mail it to:
