Anchorage Public Library
The Anchorage Public Library serves the entire state of Alaska through its interlibrary loans and traveling education programs. It maintains six branches- Chugiak- Eagle River, Mountain View, Muldoon, Loussac, Dimond- Samson and Gerrish Girdwood. There are plans in the works for a seventh branch, located in downtown Anchorage.

The mission of Anchorage Public Library is to bring the power of information, imagination, and inspiration to the people of our community.

Friends of the Library
The Friends of the Anchorage Public Library is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the Library through fundraising, supporting acquisitions, sponsoring programs and events, and increasing public awareness of the library.
The Friends of the Library host the annual Beyond the Stacks luncheon and the semi-annual book sales. To learn more, or volunteer your time with the Friends, visit www.aml-friends.org/ or call 343-2952 and leave a message.

Library Advisory Board
The Library Advisory Board acts as the planning body for library activities and special projects and makes recommendations to the administration and assembly. The board also reviews annual budgets and operations. It consists of nine members and meets on the third Wednesday of each month.
